NC4 and a bit - 2025 Day 1

Decided that we're just going to blast up the motorway to get to Helensburgh. It's only a 4:10 hour ride, but they'll be plenty of stops - probably Tebay 1st, or maybe Charnock Richard depending on how it goes..

Blasted straight up to Tebay and ordered the most expensive sandwich known to man - Although PC opted for a local steak and ale pie, which was excellent and well worth the money!
Rode into the hotel relatively early and settled in for a couple of beers. The Rosslea has seen better days, it was a little rough and needed some renovations, but the staff were brilliant and the welcome excellent - Jess, Alison and Ceira were just lovely and really cared what they were doing and making us very welcome.

I'd already finished off the starter before I could take a photo - food, very good!!!! That was a haggis, neeps and tatties btw.....
Bedrooms, very comfortable - Toby snagged the 4-poster larger room; sure that was meant for PC and Mr C, but not to worry!
The evening was a little cold, but the forecast was good and the day, other than a few splashes of rain over Shap, was dry and made for great riding conditions, even though it was mainly motorway.

We did deviate off at Abington Services and rode the "weeeeeee" road up to Falkirk and then headed to Glasgow via the A roads - PC missed a turn and ended up on the A74, which actually was a better route in the end and saved about an hours' ride time in rush hour traffic!
All in all, a pretty good place to stop, good food, nice sleep and plenty of beers (obviously)
