NC4 and a bit - 2025 Day 2

We have a really exciting day ahead - up to Skye, via the Mallaig Ferry and then a stop over at Lochalsh. We left quite early in the morning after a very nice breakfast. The sky was blue and the weather looked very promising.

We had already chosen the breakfast the night before (Mrs C always does this), so we ordered it as soon as we walked on to the dining room. We hadn't finished our cereals as it was arriving, denoting that it was not freshly cooked as promised. Little disappointed with that so note to self.... next time, wait to be seated and ask for  freshly cooked breaky, nit just one taken from under the lights!!!The roads were perfect - we headed up the west coast, out toward Oban and then up to Fort William. We had decided to take the ferry across to Skye and wow, what a result - we were not expecting the mountain road down to Mallaig to be quite so spectacular.

We hadn't done this one before so it was a real treat. Views were amazing, the roads sweeping, it was just an absolute, unexpected bonus. The sun was shining all the way and sky was as blue as can be...

Now then - here we go, little ferry which takes circa 45 mins to get over to Skye, what a hoot!!!! Glad the sea was calm though as I think things could really be a bit rough out there on any other day.

Bikes' all secured and off we went - met a nice guy from Utah who was a bit chatty, but pleasant enough.

The Lochalsh (or Loch-lash as Toby calls it) was very shabby! In need of much care and attention and for the price we paid, was absolutely excessive. However the beer was great, the food Ok and PC and Mr's C's room very good.
Toby's on the other hand was a bag of shite! With a view of  the back and a tele that was not worth even trying to watch as it was so small....
Must say, the view from the front of the hotel was brilliant, with the Skye Bridge close by and the fishing vessels coming and going, it was a perfect place to stop over, as long as you didn't look at the bill!!!
A lovely ending to a perfect days' riding and tomorrow looks great already! The evening sky is setting us up for a spectacular day riding up to the Highlands, so we're looking forward to seeing what that brings.
Stanley all sorted - being a very good boy apparently!!!
