NC4 and a bit - 2025 Day 4

Started off with a great breakfast - Brian had not cooked omelettes previously and was new into the job. He did very well and the breaky was plentiful and very tasty! A very lovely place to stay, given its isolation. They were in the middle of doing it up, but has to be said, all in all pretty damn good for a B&B....

We headed out and rode even more spectacular roads. The coast is wild and the mountains rise up from the sea in a breathtaking way. The Highlands are just amazing and biking them is just brilliant. Every turn leads to another view, every corner opens up another stretch to accelerate. We were enjoying it so much that we (diliberately) missed the tuning to Lairg and continued up to Durness.

Toby was being hassled by a BMW X5 driver on the single lane road and was "pissed" when arriving to fuel in Durness - he wasn't happy about not being consulted on the change of direction, even though he would have agreed. Apologies for that buddy!!!!!
We then found a lovely road side cafe for tea and cakes. Very modern and very clean - just on the road south of Tongue.
Set off of the old military road and once again, nothing on the road, just wide open expanse of nothingness! Amazing really, the size of Scotland is significant and much bigger than you imagine. We were riding for hours without coming across anyone! Plenty of wind farms though.

Then came the Billy Bonus - This B&B has to be the best run B&B of all time! The attention to detail was fantastic, the rooms great, the views great, the bathroom great - everything great!!! I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was expensive, but in the scheme of things extremely good value for money.
What tremendous place - absolutely loved it!
Full recommendation all round me thinks!!!
